The Belkin Bluetooth Dock Adapter for iPod
Almost missed this one: Belkin announced a Bluetooth dock adapter for the iPod yesterday. The product's name? Why, it's the, uh, Belkin Bluetooth Dock Adapter for iPod, which more or less consists of an attachment for your iPod that can wirelessly stream audio to a pair of included speakers from up to 30 feet away (they describe it as turning your iPod into a "wireless remote"). Better still, it's compatible with all stereo Bluetooth devices, like A2DP headphones. Retails for $129.99.

Very neat design.

That's not quite what i got from the press release. It has two parts: the 30 pin plug for the iPod to transmit audio over Bluetooth and the dock adapter that mimics an iPod that can be plugged into any iPod docking device.
Nowhere does it say speakers included. (hint: "Turns your iPod into a wireless remote"

How about Apple get with the program and incorporate Bluetooth into the hard drive based players? Who wants to use A2DP headphones with a huge dongle hanging off the device?

Did you see the keynote today? Yeah.

what would be cool is if this adapter can be used to update the ipod. I know that it still needs to be charged via cable, but cool nontheless

I'd like to see how big the transmitter is. Does it fit on the back of the iPod as well as plug into the doc? or is it a thin device on the bottom? It is cool though. $129 is a bit too much for me. I think about $50 is where it should be.

Griffin has had this for a long time already. The BlueTrip. I have one and it's fantastic. I use it at home with the receiver and on the go with my Motorola bluetooth headphones. Looks a little less klunky than this one too.

I already have an FM transmitter which can do exactly the same job, albeit perhaps at slightly lower quality, but I never use it because I find it too big. This thing's even bigger, and is several times the price. No thanks!
