I think you should check out the outstanding attitude towards Bose equipment on this (and most other sites for that matter) before you post something like that
Perhaps I should add that they are competitively priced in NZ - a land where often prices are many times what you (lucky little bastards) in the US pay.
For example the Weber Baby Q (retails $119USD on Amazon.com) retails for $550NZD here - that's $408USD. Why the difference - importers know we can only get stuff from overseas with great difficulty (e.g. Weber prohibits international sales for retailers), so they rip us off. Hence my favour to the relatively cheap (vs. other options available in NZ) Bose speakers.
Big thanks to max andrews for the links and the idea of building my own - will look into it as a viable alternative.

I dunno - for around the same amount one can get a very nice Bose speaker SET (not just the woofer). Who cares about one iddybiddy cable?

For that price you can *build* a set of speakers that will sound better than any sub $3000 commercial system. Check out projects here:
